Bunnell, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Flagler County (DOH-Flagler) has issued a health alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algae toxins in Haw Creek–Confluence of Dead Lake, Haw Creek, and Crescent Lake. The alert is in response to a water sample taken on May 26, 2026. The public should exercise caution in and around this area.

February 2, 2026 – The Sheltering Tree will be open tonight Tuesday and Thursday nights (and Monday which was already scheduled) but will be closed Wednesday night. The shelter, operated at the Rock Transformation Center, is not only for those experiencing homelessness, but for anyone who is without heat.
