Topics include fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and basic first aid.

During the event, certified child passenger safety technicians will assist families with checking car seat installations, ensuring seats are properly fitted, and answering child passenger safety questions.

Cold weather shelter to open Tuesday, Thursday but closed Wednesday

February 2, 2026 – The Sheltering Tree will be open tonight Tuesday and Thursday nights (and Monday which was already scheduled) but will be closed Wednesday night. The shelter, operated at the Rock Transformation Center, is not only for those experiencing homelessness, but for anyone who is without heat.
