Registration Open for the Free Autumn Flagler County Citizens’ Academy

Flagler County, Fla. — Flagler County invites residents to register for its free Citizens’ Academy. This four-day program provides a behind-the-scenes look at how both county departments and constitutional officers serve the community every day.
Program Details
- Dates: October 6, 7, 13, and 14 (Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
- Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Lunch Break: noon to 1 p.m.
“We’ve reimagined this year’s academy to deliver the same depth and breadth of information more efficiently,” said Interim County Administrator Adam Mengel. “We are bringing departments together for four immersive days. This will allow residents to see how collaboration and innovation drive our operations to provide services to the community.”
“There is something for everyone, whether they are new to the area or have lived here for decades,” Mengel said. “The academy provides insights that help people engage more confidently with local government.”
Participants will meet with the following departments and agencies during the program:

- Finance and budget
- Innovative technology
- Human resources and veterans services
- Growth management
- Engineering and public works
- General services (Parks, Fleet, Facilities, Transportation)
- Airport
- Agricultural extension
- Library systems and programs
- Tourism, economic development, and culture
- Emergency communications (911)
- Emergency management
- Fire rescue
- Health and human services
- Florida Department of Health
- School district
- Clerk of the courts
- Property appraiser
- Tax collector
- Sheriff’s Office
- Supervisor of Elections
- County Commission
