The objective of the Water Well Construction program is to protect potable water supplies, surface water and ground water throughout the State of Florida. The Florida Department of Health in Flagler County, through an Interagency Agreement with the St. Johns River Water Management District, issues construction permits and performs inspections of all potable and non-potable water wells less than 6 inches in diameter. These inspections are designed to verify that wells are installed and abandoned meeting minimum requirements in order to protect water resources from contamination.
