Bunnell, Fla. — Understanding the importance of keeping Flagler County healthy, the Flagler County Health Department and the Wawa convenience store on SR 100 will offer free COVID testing and flu shots this week. The organizations teamed up last Friday afternoon for a test run, and, based on the positive reception they received, health department staff will return this week Friday, October 16 between 2:30 and 5:30PM. Coronavirus test results should be back within two to three days.
According to Health Administrator Robert Snyder, partnerships, like the most recent with Wawa Stores, are critical in continuing to reduce the spread of COVID-19 locally.
“Though Flagler County has done reasonably well during this pandemic, the virus is still in our community,” said Snyder. “To keep protecting friends and loved ones who might be more vulnerable to severe illnesses, we need to stay the course – handwashing, mask wearing and social distancing. Wawa’s local managers understand this and enthusiastically agreed to help make it easier for customers to get tested and protect themselves from the flu. We appreciate them and all our community partners for their support and cooperation.”
