About our Health Officer
In July 2015, Mr. Snyder was appointed as health officer/administrator to the Florida Department of Health in Flagler County (DOH-Flagler). Since 2013, Mr. Snyder served as DOH-Flagler’s Business Manager, Dental Director and Quality Improvement Coordinator.
Mr. Snyder brings more than 30 years of hospital management experience to the position. Prior to coming to DOH-Flagler, he served in several capacities for Orlando Health, a network of community and specialty hospitals based in Orlando. In 2002, Bob began as Administrator of Ancillary and Support Services for Dr. P. Phillips Hospital (formerly Orlando Regional Sand Lake Hospital). He then served as Administrator of Master Facility Planning in 2006 at Orlando Regional Medical Center and as President for South Seminole Hospital from 2009-2012. Between 1982 and 2008, Bob held executive and management level positions at several hospitals, including Associate Executive Director at Humana Hospital Kissimmee, Chief Operating Officer at Waterman Medical Center, and Administrator at Memorial Hospital Flagler.
Mr. Snyder graduated from Siena College in New York with a Bachelor of Arts and earned his Master of Public Health from the University of South Carolina. He is a former commissioner with the State of Florida Commission on Excellence in Health Care and former chairman of the Small and Rural Hospital Council with the Florida Hospital Association.
A member of Flagler Beach Rotary Club, Mr. Snyder is chair of the Northeast Florida Health Planning Council and serves on the boards of SMA Healthcare, Flagler Cares, Inc., and Flagler Volunteer Services.
Mr. Snyder is married to Michele and enjoys playing the drums.
