Florida Department of Health in Flagler County Vital Statistics

Death Certificates are available for deaths that have occurred in Florida from 2009 to present. Certificates are available on a walk in basis. They are $10 each.

Restrictions

Certificates are public record and anyone may obtain certified copies, which do not show the cause of death information. Certified copies of death certificates, which show the cause of death may only be issued to the deceased’s spouse or parent, or the deceased’s child, grandchild, or sibling, if of legal age, or to any family member who provides a will, insurance policy, or other document that demonstrates the family member’s interest in the estate of the deceased, or to any person who provides documentation that he or she is acting on behalf of any of them, or by court order directing to whom a death record may be issued. Cause of death information becomes public information 50 years following the death.
